Haeundae!!!

So before the day ends...  and frankly I'm quite tired right now (and it's only 10.45pm!) I wanted to do a quick post on what happened today. The plan was that Sunny, Sulynn and I would go out for a CHEAP ASS TUESDAY movie in the city. What did we plan on watching?

Uh huh... HAEUNDAE. Now here's the thing... Hoyts at Melbourne Central has started to branch out and screen not only American movies but Bollywood and Asian movies too. So this was definitely going to draw more crowds to the cinemas for sure. I had no idea they were doing that till Sunny said that there is this rave going on in Korea about this particular Tsunami movie. I actually didn't know what to expect coz it felt a lil weird watching an Asian movie on the big screens when most would normally download it and watch it at home~~~~ hahahhaahahaa... But I'm glad I went... coz it was AWESOME... It was halarious, sad and shocking all at the same time...Gosh I walked feeling drained with mixed emotions. For the best part it was a huge production coz of all the effects being created and all but totally worth it. TWO THUMBS UP from me!!! Don't know if I should be mentioning this but the three of us cried like babies~~~~ no joke I'm real sensitive and would cry in cartoons... but I probably didn't expect Sunny to be sobbing throughout the movie hahahahahaha... It just shows that you have to go and watch this film while it's still in the cinemas in Melbourne now. And yep if you can't pronounce the name, I would just say Hyundai coz to me it sounds similar (but I was told it sounds nothing like that hahahaaha) whatever as long as the guy at the ticketbox understands....

So backtracking a lil... the movie was at 2pm and we had bought our tickets before heading off to lunch to ensure we get the seats we wanted. Lunch was held at Shark Finn House for their delish YUM CHA session in the arvo. Just a lil of what we ordered.....

I have to admit...and you're not blind it is definitely chicken feet that u see.... and that was all had by me alone since the others didn't have a liking towards it hahaahahaha.... mmmmm~~~

Man I couldn't begin to tell you what we ordered coz there was a lot!!! To be exact it was like over $80AUD worth of dim sums and what not.... HEAPS OF FOOD~~~

But the best was probably dessert as usual... EGG TARTS ALL THE WAY!!!

Let's all eat up now!!! hehehehehe.... Coz it's off to the movies soon~~~
And where was I? Behind the camera of course.. I was much happier taking shots of food and of others...But I was definitely there hahahhhahaa...

Here I am just so I'm not left out (random pic really but whatever)....
P.S. GO OUT AND WATCH HAEUNDAE IF U KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR U!!!! hahhahaahha...

Allergy update~~~

Alright it's finally time for me to update on my current health issues which I've been suffering from for about 2weeks. Yep, that's the allergy reaction I had awhile back and I can finally say that I'm recovering well and the spots are disappearing slowly~~~ Biopsy results came back showing that it was my eczema condition which has been worsened by the fact that I had started my course of Oratane (cystic acne meds).... Apparently most Asians suffer from eczema as a child and when taking certain meds will aggrevate the condition in a short space of time (which looks totally gross...coz my eczema was never this irritating!!!). But it's all cool now~~~wooo~~~~

Here's a close up of what I had to go through... Ok...so it doesn't look that bad now but it was not long ago, that I  was covered from head to toe with red spots...believe me!!! This is really when it's starting to disappear....still spotty I must say but I was told that it will eventually all go and no scars will be left behind as long as I don't scratch them... Phew~~~ Especially when the itchiness has gone now too...

One of the areas where the rash started to disappear from was my face... and here is my naked face with nothing on but moisturiser... Man ... it has cleared up so much coz I had major splotches all over the face and neck....totally hideous in my opinion...and the only reason why I definitely had to hide away from society ahahahaahaha...

Now that my face had cleared up and I wasn't feeling like I needed to itch myself while in public...It was time for me to head out of the house!!! Coz I can totally face ppl now without looking to unlike myself haahahahaha... So it was a must that I headed back to church yesterday (I had already missed 2weeks worth of service~~~). Not only that but I was excited to go out and see ppl again....too bad the weather was terribly windy and cold on the first day out for me....

This is what I had for my first meal out...with Sunny and Sulynn after church for lunch. We headed to Teppansan on Russel st in the city for their famous CHEAP ASS Okonomiyaki... They call it Japanese pizza with the choice of fillings... I ordered the one with pork...while the other girls had beef (I don't eat RED MEAT)... I'm all about the chicken and fish with the ocassional pork (but hardly much of it). It's vegetables all the way~~~I probably only got through half of the meal coz it wasn't that great (quite disappointing) and I ordered Takoyaki on the side too~~~

For the past 2weeks I haven't been all that caught up in food cravings but I was definitely craving for some real COFFEE...which I miss heaps!!! I was thinking about a cup of hot coffee the entire time I was at home and finally got the chance yesterday to head to Koko Black for my fave Hot Chocolate Mocha ahhhhh~~~ Completely satisfied~~~ I've cut down on my coffee intake since I left uni but I can't live without it that's for sure. The above photo is one I took of the very last coffee I had before I broke out in allergies...I went out shopping that day then to Laurent with my sister for a break from shopping and to relax..we both admired the froth art hehehehe....its so cool ... didn't want to mess it up really... and the coffee was GREAT!!!

And that ends my first day out yesterday (Sunday)... Really satisfied coz I got to eat and drink my long awaited coffee I've been dying to have~~~ and most of all got to go to church to meet up with Sunny and her housemate Sulynn. Worse thing was the weather... super windy and freezing...HOW IS THIS SPRING??? sighZ~~~~ It'll get better soon I'm sure hehehhehee.... Stay well now ppl....

Korean studies...

Just a lil about my talent in studying languages.... Well I have NONE!!! hahahaha... No joke, I'm Chinese/Malaysian (specifically...Mum is Malaysian and Dad is from Hong Kong)  but I was born in Melbourne (Australia) so... I'm Aussie. There was never a need to learn anything but English. I was even so confused when I was younger listening to cantonese at home and then going to school and hearing english...I thought ppl would understand me if I was expressing the same words but in cantonese to my friends in primary school (really only thought there was the one universal language hahhaahaha).. but realised no one understood me and thought I was speaking some alien language.

Then it was time to go and study Chinese (mandarin) which many would be forced to do when you're young and when you have nothing to do on your weekends. Man~~~ I totally dreaded it... to the point of wagging school every week for a month and getting caught... I was never good at learning mandarin coz cantonese at home was hard enough~~~~ So I dropped out.

In high school the only language I loved to learn was French and I wasn't too bad at it but then followed the trend to study Japanese. But yet again after so many years of learning jap in school I wasn't that great at it in the end ... I'm more a listener than a speaker...

At uni I felt that maybe I should be getting back to my roots somehow and picked up Chinese again as my minor in my Arts degree .... But man oh man~~~ I sucked at it bad ... In fact all the western dudes in my class was much better than me (and all other ABC looking aussie born chinese). I'm so ashamed and I had no idea what I was doing there or what I was even learning~~~ My limit was at level 8 when others went onto level 13 or something~~~ bummer....

And now... in preparation for my trip to Korea with my bestie Sunny... I've decided with my limited language talent I have that I would start learning some Korean (even if it is only basic)... Here's how I've been doing it....

Purchased an electronic dictionary which I've never felt the need to buy even when I was studying Jap or Chinese... But guess it's time to get serious now~~ This one is the Casio EW-H7100 gosh... I forgot how much it is but it's affordable coz I bought it online with my other friend from my Korean class who happened to be wanting one too ... Here is where I purchased it from ... very trusty and fast too....

At start of the year I even joined up a short course class at CAE in the city (night school for adults) to learn Korean... and finished level 1 ahahahhaha...
Vivian my bestie in  class says that she had a friend who was at the time in Korea and could ask him to buy us a beginners level textbook to help us learn... and it would be so much cheaper to purchase from Korea ($20 AUD) compared to $80AUD purchased in Melb... And here it is.... such a great textbook ...really does go through all the basics hahahaahaha....

Just for fun... I wanted to show you what I've asked Sunny to help me with... My lil self introduction in Korean hahhaahahah

And so I'm still learning.... Going to classes, buying books and an electronic dictionary so maybe I'll get better over time provided I stick to it~~~With all the languages I've been learning over the years I'm never really good at speaking them... I'm great at listening though... The problem with learning English first is that it's very hard to pronounce certain sounds... hence I'll never be fluent in foreign languages, I'll just be content when others can understand even a lil of what I want to express :)

Alrighty till next time...

Mooncakes....

So it's not only the new Spring season but it's also the season to eat MOONCAKES...Yep, the mooncake festival is here and it's during this time of the year in the Chinese Luna calender that we love best (sorta a tradition to eat mooncakes every year heheeh). I have to be honest that I have no idea why the Asian ppl celebrate this particular season with mooncakes coz I just go by what my parents say. I never even remember when the time comes to go out and purchase the mooncakes. But apparently, families and friends will get together and eat mooncakes while admiring the mid-Autumn's bright moon in the sky... a pretty sight really....

A little of what my family got... mind you there are so many different varieties of mooncakes and I think the makers in Hong Kong just keep coming up with new ideas for fillings that are attractive to the young ppl.

I absolutely hate the traditional ones with the duck egg yolks inside...I've always hated it...

This is my favourite!!! Coz I just love the white lotus paste and I can never get enough of it

Ok this is one I never tried in the past... This is known as the SNOWY mooncakes. And it's kinda like eating Japanese Mochi with a gooey outer skin. These ones have to be kept in the fridge and eaten cold (hence.. snowy~~~). These were the new inventions for the young ppl. This particular one is called the strawberry crunch (strawberry jam in the middle, lil choc biscuits bits creating the crunch, and some bean paste). They have so many other flavours like pineapple crunch, green tea, yam (taro), mango & macademia nuts, chestnuts, green tea & red bean.... and it goes on.... These are definitely different than the traditional ones but very interesting....

Alright so a lil update on my lil allergy problem...I have to say that I'm getting heaps better now and tmr is when I go and find out my biopsy results. So I'm getting better and much happier that I can go out soon ahahahaha... Last night my sis and I went grocery shopping and decided to make a pasta bake which will be her lunch for work tmr.... Although I'll be making the bake myself....

It's so simple~~~ Here are the ingredients:
-Shredded BBQ chicken
-Penne pasta
-Sliced mushrooms
-Cherry tomatoes
-Spinach leaves
-Grated tasty cheese
-Pesto paste
-Light and creamy evaporated milk

This is definitely great for the lunch box and also for dinner.... It's real cheap to make as well... So I hope my sister loves it when she gets home from work coz she says she'll have some.... pesto tastes so great....
Now what do I normally do when I'm resting or recovering at home... well besides going online and watch TV... I've been helping some friends out with some uni work and then I also relax with a cuppa and reading mags....

Gen Mai Cha Sencha (what a mouth full)...From T2 (tea two)

Best magz to read are Russh and Frankie not to mention they are the inexpensive magz on fashion and stuff... I love reading the articles and interviews with international models...not to mention great fashion and makeup tips (keeping up with the trends I guess is quite important even if I can't afford it all~~~ hehhehee)....

What else would I also do when I'm bored???

yepp... I paint my nails and make them look pretty~~~ hehehe... I have on right now O.P.I's Elephantastic Pink and it's a great looking neon, bright pink... I love it and is the best colour for Spring right now... especially when you need to brighten up the plain boring nails, which I had previously. Ain't it great?

Well that's all the update I have right now... From this I'm sure you've noticed I've done nothing but stay at home and eat, sleep and rest hahaahahah but I guess you can't help it sometimes when you are suddenly hit down with something... But I'm looking forward to heading out again and catching some rays of sunshine!!!! Alright that's it for me now... gonna go off and do some work now... (marketing work that is....~~~)

Till next time. Take care.

Friendships in Spring

Ok so this post was meant to be a following post for my old blog but instead I'll be doing it here just so I can start to get the hang of things here hehheehe...
Now that it's September it means it's Spring time here Australia and I think it's seriously starting to warm up finally~~~ So following our lil meet up with the Pajama King Peter Alexander from my old post on Xanga I intended to stay over at Sunny's place for the weekend. Man~~~ we woke up late coz we were pretty buggered but had made a promise to our dear friend Ida that we'd meet up with her in the city. Mind you I haven't seen Ida in like what? 2 months maybe coz of our busy schedules and all so it was a 'must go' situation haahahahaha

We indeed woke up to a very lovely day that day... hearing from the weather reports it was 25degrees, just the perfect spring weather to go out. So there shouldn't be any complaints except that we were dead tired hahahaahaha...

Look how clear and blue the skies were and the green surroundings were that day... this was just Sunny's backyard at her uni flats but we totally wanted to soak up the sun (not too much of course). After our lil photowhoring session we headed to the bus stop for our journey into the city. I think we were going to meet up Ida around  the early evening for some dinner.

Then...as we got to the city we had a more pressing matter.... We realised that we had missed Ida's birthday this year becoz it was during the most busiest time in uni and there were no celebrations planned. Yep we felt bad so it was definitely time to buy a pressie while we still had the time to shop before the meet up. Check out our gift to Ida....

It's a really cool leather band kinda ... bohemian styled bracelet from Fossil. We came across this coz Sunny has been eyeing it for weeks and when I tried it on at the store.... I instantly fell in love with it. This was definitely something we just had to get for Ida but then....

We bought three!!!! hahahahaha... Well it was lovely as a pressie of course but we were lucky enough to purchase two more with the golden peace sign as well. "The last three..." is what the manager at the store said... man were we lucky. Look how pretty it is as we're wearing it.... It's really something for us to keep and to remind ourselves of the friendship we've built on over the past 2years. Now this was even more sentimental to me considering that these girls will be leaving me one way or another. Sunny is from South Korea and Ida is from Singapore and I'm just another local Aussie haahahaha Then it reminded me how great it is to meet ppl from different places and then to become friends is just an awesome experience to learn more about other cultures and stuff. As soon as I took this photo the worst happened... Out of the three bracelets mine broke at the link which kinda holds the whole thing together. So I immediately went back to get it exchanged or replaced leaving the girls at dinner (would only take me 5mins or so I thought). But they couldn't give me another since they didn't have any left in the store so it had to come in from another store and I would have to pick it up once I was notified....

Now I'm pleased to say that I finally got my NEW bracelet hahhahaah and it came in a bigger box (the only difference hahahaha). I better be careful with it in the future coz it seems a lil delicate. Ppl should definitely check out your nearest Fossil store for their jewellery collection coz it's so pretty~~~

Rushing back to dinner...We all had pad thai for dinner at Chilli Padi coz we all really weren't  that hungry (more tired I guess). Sunny and I had a late night the night before and according to Ida she went out clubbing hhahahaha but it was a great meet up LOVED IT. Then we headed out for some coffee at Starbucks before going home. All in all it was a great day and I'm sure Ida loved her birthday pressie with sentimental meanings behind it (something to treasure).

P.S. You've probably noticed that I've got the xanga watermarks on my photos that's becoz it was meant to be in my xanga posts and I had gotten my pics ready for it .... But I couldn't be bothered redoing them... Future posts will be different though hope it doesn't confuse ppl ahahhhahaha...

And so the ordeal goes on...

Ok if you don't know what ordeal I'm talking about I highly recommend you click here and visit my old blog and do a lil catching up... Then you'll fully understand the amount of frustration I'm going through right now. I went to the my dermotologist today to get this allergic reaction of mine checked out and not only was it a long wait but the appointment was so much more than what I expected.

I went in thinking I'll just get my rash looked at since it's been spreading all over the body (ewww... I know~~) and maybe a simple blood test. But instead I got a biopsy done on two places on my back under local anesthetic thankgoodness~~~... Since my GP couldn't figure it out, I thought the specialist would be pros at this... but apparently to the naked eye it could look like any allergic reaction so we don't know until we have a biopsy done. I have stitches in my back which will eventually have to come out later this week... man all this for an allergic reaction I've NEVER had before (this stuff is annoying~~~)

So I'm probably not in the right state of mind since I've been dealing with the itchiness and ugly spots for over a week and they still haven't figured out anything yet... So fingers crossed for friday's results.

Onto some other decisions I've made recently... well I've decided not to transfer my blog from Xanga to this spot because it's too much work going through the same photos and then having to change the watermarks on them... so please visit my Xanga site if you get the time and you wanna know what I've been up to in the past in my little city of Melbourne in Aus town ahaahahahahaa...

I'll continue what I planned to post on Xanga in the future here so look out for it. And wish me luck in my recovery from this terrible ordeal.....man I just want to have it GONE ASAP!!!!
for fun
Till next time.

My NEW Blog!!!

Hey ppl,  So I've been reading heaps of blogs while I'm free and not really doing much and realised most of the best blogs are on blogger so I decided to head one up too. Now I do have another blog which is on Xanga which doesn't seem to do much for me nowadays but if you would like to visit just click here. You'll probably find that the concept is pretty much the same hehehhehe...

I don't know if I'll be starting from the beginning in terms of moving some stuff I've done on Xanga over to this new blogspot of mine...But I'll consider it...in the meantime check it out for past posts on my daily life ahahahahaha... I hope I won't be feeling like I need to change to another blog site anytime soon... I'm not internet savvy and it seriously takes me ages to get the hold of certain sites. But I hope you all enjoy following me and my lil adventures as I go along.

P.S. This was just a quick hello and to check out how all this works hahhahahha (pretty cool I must say...)

Till next time.
